Terms of Service
These terms cover every app at strongtechnicalconsulting.com: Trip Planner, the college football app, Hopscotch, Spellbook, DataViz, Friction, the Challenge Lab and its trial apps, the shared account site and this website. Using them means you agree to these terms. They're short, and meant to be read.
Who you're dealing with
The apps are built and run by Erik Strong (Strong Technical Consulting) in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. They are a small, independent operation, not a large company, and they are provided on that basis.
Your account
- Anyone may register. You must be at least 13, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms.
- One account works across every app. Keep your password safe and don't share your account. You're responsible for what's done with it.
- Give an email address you control. It is how you prove the account is yours.
Free use, membership and credit
- Everything that isn't an AI call is free, for as long as you like.
- Every new account gets a one-time free AI allowance, shared across all the apps. It is shown in your account.
- After that, a monthly membership unlocks continued AI use, the better model, and the choice to add credit or use your own Anthropic API key. Credit is sold separately and is spent at roughly what the AI calls cost. If you use your own key, Anthropic bills you directly for those calls.
- Prices are shown before you pay. Payments go through Stripe. The membership renews monthly until you cancel it, which you can do at any time from your account. It then stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Credit is used up as you use AI features, and it doesn't expire while your account exists. If you think you were charged in error, email me and I'll look into it.
AI answers
Many features are powered by an AI model with web search. AI answers can be wrong, out of date, or incomplete. Check anything that matters before you rely on it: prices, availability, schedules, opening hours, travel rules, weather and booking details all change.
- Nothing the apps say is professional, legal, medical or financial advice.
- The college football app's picks and odds are for entertainment. They are not betting advice. If you bet, bet only where it is legal for you and only what you can afford to lose.
- Suggested changes to your data, such as an itinerary, a booking or a packing list, are only saved when you tap to accept them.
Your content
What you create in the apps is yours. You give me permission to store it, process it and send it to the services listed in the Privacy Policy, only as needed to run the apps for you and to show it to people you choose to share it with. Don't put anything into the apps that you don't have the right to use.
Gmail and other services
Connecting Gmail is optional. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is read, what is kept and how to disconnect. Some features rely on other companies' services, such as Google, Anthropic, Stripe and the weather providers. Your use of those features is also subject to their terms, and I'm not responsible for their outages or changes.
Acceptable use
Don't:
- break the law, or use the apps to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
- try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or probe, overload or disrupt the apps;
- create accounts in bulk to farm the free allowance, or resell access;
- scrape the apps with automated tools, or use them to build a competing service;
- use the AI features to produce anything illegal or abusive.
Availability
I work to keep the apps running and your data safe, but they are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Features may change, and an app may be retired. If an app you use is being shut down, I'll give reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.
The Challenge Lab is different on purpose. Its apps are experiments: a new one arrives every day, they change quickly, and the ones people vote down are retired. If a lab app you use is retired, the lab page will say so, and I'll send you your data from it if you email me.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as a missed flight, a lost booking or lost profits, arising from your use of the apps or reliance on their answers. My total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me in the 12 months before it arose, or $50 if that is more. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Ending
You can stop using the apps and delete your account at any time. I may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the apps or other users at risk. Where it's reasonable, I'll tell you first and explain why.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA. Please email me first if you have a problem; most things can be sorted out that way.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes too. For a significant change I'll say so in the apps before it takes effect. If you keep using the apps after that, you accept the new terms.
